Roberts Adventure 2 (Shattered Emerald)

The story starts off with the news channel interviewing Robert and Blaze at the house.

NEWS LADY

Tonight!  On Channel 1 News!  We easily managed to get Shadow the Hedgehogs permission to enter his house where we can interview the two heroes that saved not only the Sonic Universe, but the entire Gaming Universe and the Reality-verse (which now mirrors our world), Robert Decev and Blaze the Cat.  So without further ado…

The News Lady puts the microphone closer to Robert and Blaze.

What happened in the near, year-long time span from after your adventure to now?

ROBERT

Uh…I don’t know how to say this but it’s been “up, down, and all around.”  After Angelo’s defeat, we’ve been invited to various conventions, parties, and even got 10 year V.I.P.s to those nightclubs.

BLAZE

That’s actually how Robert became a famous stud very quickly.

ROBERT

Yeah… that came out of nowhere.  But anyway, once I got 100% comfortable at Shadows house, things slowed down exponentially.

BLAZE

I did have to break up with Silver because of some B.S. circumstances that got in the way.  But funny enough, we move in here just two days after the event.

ROBERT

Yes, I believe it happened…

BLAZE

It was 4 months ago!

ROBERT

Right, sorry.  We did meet up with a smart guy who’s named Charles Cert. during our vacation in Vegas and he’s been staying with us ever since he saved me from being assassinated.

BLAZE

It’s best if you don’t ask why.

ROBERT

Other than that, we’ve been taking it easy.

NEWS LADY

That’s good to hear.  I have one more question to ask before we leave though.

BLAZE

Go ahead.

NEWS LADY

There’s been word spreading around that an unidentifiable group of Anti-Videogame activists known as the “Eradicators of Gaming” which appeared out of nowhere and have set up shop somewhere on the other side of town.  What do you two think of all this?

BLAZE

Anti-Videogame activists?  Oh please, compared to what we’ve fought last time, they don’t sound as threating.  But whatever the case is, we’ll look into it?

As soon as Blaze said that, it switches to the E.O.G.s bosses office and the T.V. is turned off.

MYSTERIOUS LEADER

*chuckles* you’ve really thought it was okay to leave us for a pixels and blips huh?

MYSTERIOUS ASSISTANT

You see?  That’s what I’ve been saying to you.

MYSTERIOUS LEADER

That’s what I love about you; you would never give in to that “thing” called “entertainment” unlike your brother.

MYSTERIOUS ASSISTANT

Yes… unlike my brother indeed.  So should we take them now?

MYSTERIOUS LEADER

No!  I want them to at least make a decent effort before perishing.  How’s our small army doing?

MYSTERIOUS ASSISTANT

Well… everyone that we’ve got is doing exactly as we wish except for one girl named Rebecca (Who is actually dating Charles at the moment).

MYSTERIOUS LEADER

Then we can definitely use that to our advantage.  Dismissed!

MYSTERIOUS ASSISTANT

Yes mom.

The Leader looks outside her window.

MYSTERIOUS LEADER

I will make sure you come back to us.

Cut to one month later.

E.O.G. Base, 5:01 am.

Five silhouettes are running towards the building.  Three of them enter via the sewer line and the other two take the rooftops.

Cut to the basement foundation where two of them make it inside.  The shadows lighten up revealing them as Robert and Blaze (Where Blaze is getting Robert out of the manhole).

ROBERT

*whew* finally!  What did those guys eat?

Robert and Blaze are looking around the room.

BLAZE

Where did Charles go?

They hear someone else coming out of another manhole inside a caged storage area.  Charles pops out and contacts Robert and Blaze via earpiece.

CHARLES

This is “Character from nowhere” calling.  Do you read me “Awkward Couple”?

ROBERT

Out of all the code names you could’ve gave us, Why “Awkward Couple”?

CHARLES

Well considering how we’ve met, I thought it would be… never mind, we’re not here to argue you know.

BLAZE

Well you could’ve put more thought into it.  But let’s forget about the names and get down to business.  If your girlfriend is true, taking down the leader will turn down whatever this group has planning.  So with that out of the way, where do we go from here?

CHARLES

Ok, because of my slight misdirection, I’m kind of stuck in this cage.  Could one of you pull the lever so I can get out?

Blaze pulls the lever and the cage opens up.

Thank you.  Now let me see what I can do with this security terminal?

As Charles is hacking the terminal.

Motion detectors are offline……… Camera feed should be dead, now for the gate………

Gate opens up.

You two shall pass.

BLAZE

Impressive Charles!  All of that nerd work could potentially save a life or two.

CHARLES

Thank you for the “meaningful” compliment, but we’re not out of the woods yet.  Now that the camera feed is dead, it probably won’t take long for the guards to notice.  I’ll stay right here just to keep things in check.  You two go ahead and meet up with Shadow and Silver.

ROBERT

Alright, you be careful in here.

Robert and Blaze head upstairs to the upper section in the main hall. 

They enter a random room with a glass roof.

Hmm… I don’t see Shadow or Silver anywhere.  Maybe we should…

Then immediately, Shadow and Silver make their entrance.

SHADOW

Coming Down!

Shadow and Silver break through the glass.

SILVER

Hello fellow group members!  I hope you were safe enough from our “inconspicuous” entrance.

ROBERT

Hey as long as we don’t have pieces of glass in our eyes, we should be good.

SHADOW

Well it was Silver’s idea to take the rooftops.

SILVER

I could’ve just use psychokinesis to remove the glass, but you just barged in.

SHADOW

You know me, I shoot first and never ask questions later.

BLAZE

Right… Anyway, do you think you can use your twig-like arms to open that gate?

SHADOW

Fine, I’ll show you what I can do.

Shadow lifts up the gate.

Ok, it’s up.

Robert, Blaze, Shadow, and Silver pass through but are then stopped by a few guards.

GUARD (Puts the gun up)

FREEZE!

SILVER (Thinking quickly)

Ok.

Silver pushes the guards back to the elevator with his psychokinesis.

Silver then uses his psychokinesis to grab the elevator itself and sends it down the elevator shaft.

ROBERT

Damn Silver!  You’re really into it today!

SILVER

I slept early for a reason.

SHADOW

Hey I did to.

SILVER

No you didn’t, you drunk energy drinks the whole night.

SHADOW

Actually, you’re wrong.  I drank 5-hour energy as soon as I woke up.

Robert, Silver, and Blaze roll their eyes.

Anyway, Silver, you should go back to the basement area and pick up Charles.  Robert and Blaze, you just get in there and confront the leader.  I’ll wait by the door in case if anything happens.

BLAZE

Thanks.  I’m sure Robert and I have this covered.

Silver heads down to the basement to get Charles.

Robert and Blaze get into the office.  And Shadow waits by the door.

When Robert and Blaze get into the office, it’s completely empty.  Robert contacts Charles.

ROBERT

Charles?  Are you sure she’s here?

CHARLES

Yes.  What’s going on?

ROBERT

We don’t see anybody.

CHARLES

Are you serious?!  Do you think they’re hiding somewhere?

Then out of nowhere, Charles girlfriend “Rebecca” walks from the shadows.

REBECCA

I’m sorry for not contacting you earlier but they just left two hours ago.

ROBERT & BLAZE

Dammit!

REBECCA

And what’s even worse is that they can finally move on with their “master plan”.

BLAZE

What do you mean?

REBECCA

I just found out that before they left, they have a certain power in the form of dark energy.

ROBERT

What dark energy?

REBECCA

It looks like a black, crystalized fragment of some kind.

ROBERT

Crystalized fragment?

Robert then remembers when he first met Dark Sonic and how he shattered the Dark Emeralds.

Oh shit!

BLAZE

What is it now?

ROBERT

Blaze?  Remember when I shattered those Dark Emeralds back when we first met Dark Sonic?

BLAZE (Thinking about it)

…Oh.  I see.

REBECCA

Wait?  You know this power?  Why didn’t you destroy it to begin with?

BLAZE

Hey, back off!  We thought those emeralds were destroyed.

REBECCA

Yeah well it looks like you’ve got a mess to clean up.

Rebecca looks at Robert in particular.

But don’t worry; I do know the locations of other group members that could have more pieces of the Dark Emeralds.

ROBERT

Really, where are they?

Then suddenly, the alarm goes off and Shadow bursts through the door.

SHADOW

Guys we have to go!  More guards are coming our way!

REBECCA

That sounds like my time to go.

Rebecca tries to leave but is stopped by Robert.

ROBERT

Wait are you going to tell us where they are?

REBECCA

I’ll send Charles an e-mail.  Just get out of here and maybe you’ll see what progress is.

Rebecca leaves through the door.

Blaze then contacts Charles.

BLAZE

Charles, where are you and Silver?

CHARLES

Silver and I are waiting by the car.  We’re just waiting for your arrival.

SHADOW

I can easily blow through those guards and get the car started.

ROBERT

Pick us up at the nearest alleyway.

Shadow leaves and barrels through the guards.

Robert and Blaze escape through the window as the security team closes in.

Shadow gets into the vehicle along with Silver and Charles and drives.  Shadow is then chased by a few cars.

When Robert and Blaze head onto rooftops, they’re ambushed by a few “rookie sharpshooters”.  With no cover spots to be found, Robert and Blaze do the “YOLO” method and just run.

Meanwhile with Shadow, Silver, and Charles; they manage to shake the patrol cars off with some fast driving and a few Mario promotion stands.  Shadow then parks the car in a nearby alleyway.

Back to Robert and Blaze; they manage to get through without a single bullet from the snipers.  They see the car in the alley and attempt to go down a fire escape.  The fire escape itself though breaks down and Robert and Blaze fall.  Blaze lands on an old mattress with a few garbage bags while Robert lands in a dumpster filled with exposed garbage.  Robert emerges from the dumpster and shakes the trash off.

SHADOW

What are you two doing?!  Hurry up!

Robert and Blaze hurriedly make it the car and dive into the back seats.

ROBERT

PUNCH IT!

Shadow hits the gas pedal hard and escapes from the security team.

Shadow and Silver take notice of the odor that Robert, Blaze, and Charles have.

SHADOW

Oh god!  How much soap do we need?

BLAZE

Probably at least a 10 gallons would work.

SILVER

Okay new rule, we’re never doing a sewer job again.

ROBERT, BLAZE, and CHARLES

Thank you.

They drive off into the distance.
