Sonic Generations (Thoughts in a Nutshell)

Note: This is just my opinion

November 1st of 2011 was in my opinion, A good day for gaming.  In addition to Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception coming out (Even though I didn't get the game until 2012), we got Sonic Generations.  This game marked the 20th anniversary for the Blue Blur, and was a fine celebration compared to the 15th anniversary.  And while the praise has turned into hate (just like it's predecessor), I wouldn't let that ruin the game for me.  Classic Sonic, while nowhere near as good as he was in his heyday, still controls fine as he is.  Modern Sonic, while the 2D sections are a bit redundant, the Levels were still pretty open.  I will admit that the story wasn't all that great especially for a game that goes over Sonic's overall gaming career, as well as pretty meh to bad aspects (like some missions, Classic Planet Wisp, and The Final Boss).  But barring those issues, everything that's right just outweighs everything that's wrong.  But the real reason why it got me interested in Sonic again though, I just had fun.  And while I don't have a problem with getting immersed into the game, Fun is what I want the most in videogames.

The only substantial problem I had with Sonic Generations (besides any short length) was that in Modern Sonic's stages, the switch between 2D and 3D always threw me off.
