Description
While Console Sonic in 2005 wasn't having the best time imaginable with Shadow the Hedgehog and it's controversy, Handheld Sonic was literally having a hell of a blast with Sonic Rush, and rightfully so. Not only did this game introduce Blaze the Cat, both the best female Sonic character period and a princess that isn't a dunce in some dress (Fuck you Sonic 06 for severely fucking up her backstory), but it also introduced the boost formula. The levels were fun and fast paced, and even stuff like the Special Stages weren't too bad. My only real issue with this game are the boss fights (Especially in Blaze's Story). But apart from that, Sonic Rush is so far my favorite Handheld Sonic Game.
I'll get to Rush Adventure in the future.
I love Sonic Rush and the introduction to Blaze. She was amazing in both this and Rush Adventure and her interaction with Sonic is always great to see.
And yes, I totally agree with the Sonic 06 statement. Honestly, SEGA should have just created a new character alongside Silver instead of using Blaze because it makes no sense for her to even be there. Not only that, but she was entirely pointless to the story (and acted as Silver's sidekick which I hated). She serves no purposes to the story (literally nobody addresses, mentions or speaks to her outside of Silver) and even at the end where she seals Iblis inside herself, it didn't mean anything since at the end, Solaris happened and then everything was erased.
Only good thing to come from that is her being in 3d and her gameplay. Outside of that, Blaze should have not been in the game at all (and believe me, seeing people say Blaze is originally from the future and ending up in another dimension at the end of 06 is annoying.)
